Vegan Restaurant to Join the SLO Public Market
Akindele Bankole will be opening his second location of Veg on the Edge in the SLO Public Market. SLO Public Market is thrilled to announce our deliciously plant-based vendor. Veg on the Edge opened its doors in 2017 in Santa Cruz to serve Vegan Food with a West African influence.
Their flavorful menu includes vegan classics and a taste of West African foods. With compassion being the tenet that drives Veg on the Edge, Bankole and his team are committed to serving delicious and nutritious foods made only with fresh, sustainable ingredients.
Although there is a great deal of West African Influence, there are also Asian and western continental influences on the menu as well. Their nutritious and unique options include vegan tacos made with a choice of Jackfruit, roasted tofu scramble, or Súyà; Obè Ègúsí (Pumpkin Seed Stew); Obè O L’ogede (Plantain Curry); and other amazing plant-based entrees. If you want a quick snack, they offer unique finds such as cassava fries and peppered plantain. One cannot complete a meal without a vegan dessert like their Black Bean Pudding.
